Most smaller businesses pay only for the employee. Really, many larger businesses do the same.
If you employee less than 50 workers you may pay any percentage you like. A good standard is 50%. If more than 50 workers 50% is mandatory.
Some small business insurance plans require 50% or more. You may need to check with the carrier.
