Do many small business’s pay for a portion of the families health insurance or just for the employee?

Most smaller businesses pay only for the employee. Really, many larger businesses do the same.

If you employee less than 50 workers you may pay any percentage you like. A good standard is 50%. If more than 50 workers 50% is mandatory.

Some small business insurance plans require 50% or more. You may need to check with the carrier.
