Hey Compliance Warriors!
With the introduction of a new state law, Florida businesses may have to reassess their approach to handling Form I-9. As of July 1, 2023, private companies in Florida that employ at least 25 individuals are mandated to use the E-Verify system.
This tool is used to confirm the eligibility for employment of every new recruit within three business days from their initial day of employment. This stipulation is applicable to any employee brought on board on or after July 1, 2023.
While it is not a requirement for Florida businesses with less than 25 employees, it is still highly recommended that they utilize the E-Verify system.
