BREAKING NEWS: FDA Fully Approves Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine a.k.a. Comirnaty

On August 23, 2021, the FDA approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty, for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals. https://www.fda.gov/emergency-preparedness-and-response/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/comirnaty-and-pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine

What does this mean for vaccine mandates at work? The Biden administration has encouraged employers in this direction and said they will protect those employers who choose to mandate vaccines.  https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/08/11/readout-of-president-bidens-meeting-with-business-university-and-health-care-leaders-on-covid-19-vaccination-requirements/

Review the needs of your business and the impact a mandate will have on staff that may not be so easy to replace if they are terminated due to an unvaccinated status.
