Breaking News: FMLA Forms are Ready!

That crazy DOL! Boy can they play with employers when they want.

I get 5-10 email updates every single day from all sorts of DOL update feeds. But, I never saw a post about the new FMLA forms. Thanks to Jeff Nowack from “FMLA Insights”, for posting the news as soon as he heard about it!

So, the changes are minor and mainly circle around GINA – Genetic Information Non-discrimination Act. A sample of the  new language to healthcare providers is below:

Do not provide information about genetic tests, as defined in 29 C.F.R. § 1635.3(f), genetic services, as defined in 29 C.F.R. § 1635.3(e), or the manifestation of disease or disorder in the employee’s family members, 29 C.F.R. § 1635.3(b).

The new expiration dates are May 2018. So, we have a few years until all of this suspense and hide-the-breaking news starts up again. I have updated the FMLA section of HelpDesk. Go get ’em!

Until Next Time, Be Audit-Secure!
